Usually, guys are concerned that a brake will REDUCE muzzle velocity. That's a much more sensible concern, due to the loss of gas just before muzzle exit. At worst, however, that's the equivalent of loosing an inch or so of barrel length: inconsequential.
But BOOSTING velocity? I think I'd ask for his scientific reasoning behind that notion.
