We find wind is the major problem. The difficulty with snow or fog is the lack of visibility. The only sensory advantage humans have to use against coyotes is our superior vision, so take that away and we lose big. As was mentioned, however, coyotes will still come, and their sudden appearance at close range is a lot of fun.

Wind seems to make them more cautious, and it also seriously limits the range and direction at which calls can be heard. We just stay home if it's too windy.
