recurve or longbow?

I shoot longbow most of the time but also shoot recurve and compound . Started shooting with a recurve in the early 70's and went to compound for about 6 yrs in the 90's then back to recurves, bought my first longbow in 2000 and have been shooting them 90% of the time since then. I find my longbows more comfortable to shoot but then agian I have the more moderen reflex/deflex design with recurve style risers. The thing I find most confusing to me is that I can pick up the compound and shoot it well but any more have trouble shooting my recurves.
