typically recurves will have more power. However, the newer generation longbows are getting up there too and I have a 21st Century by Jim Ploem that you cannot tell the difference over the chrony from my 60 pound recurve.. so it all depends.
Smoothness is going to come from the guy who builds the bow. Accuracy can be traced to two things I think. 1) Anchor point. If you don't have a good anchor ALWAYS, you will never be accurate. A good wrist. If you grip the bow, you will never be accurate. You have to let the bow find itself in the web of your palm and whichever form you use, straight or palm held against the grip don't grip the bow. Use a pair of lightweight cotton gloves allows the bow to move without friction and helps.
Lastly... your release ....... Ideally you should release without realizing you're going to.. pull to your anchor point and relax.
