a bedded M1 is a "service rifle" and is used (by 1% of competitors or less) in the primary service rifle matches at Camp Perry

the John C Garand Match rules are set up for "as issued" stock rifles only, no bedding, no match barrels, no NM sights, etc etc.

here in Phoenix, we combine JC Garand with Curio & Relic or obsolete bolt rifle matches but we let anyone shoot.
