				Model 96 Work

I'm wanting to redo my sporterized Mdoel 96. Currently it has a real nice blueing and stock, however, the previous owner did not do a good job on the low safety and the cocking piece. So, I'm wanting to put a Sunny HIll Shroud, Dayton Traister cocking piece and Timney trigger with a safety on it. I'm pretty good with tools and such, but is this a job better left to a gunsmith?

If you are handy with tools, give it a try. I have reworked the 96 and the only reccommedation I would make is to convert to cock on open. Kit is available through Brownell's. Remember,if it doesn't turn out you can always take it to a gunsmith to have it reworked. jplonghunter |
