sometimes you can re-thread with a tap and Brownells has oversize 6-48 screws you can buy. Also you could redrill the holes with a drill and re-tap to 8-40 screws. Midway has 6-48 and 8-40 drill bits and taps. Now down to the nitty gritty, if you don't have a drill press or a steady hand I highly suggest you call a smith. Some smiths in this area charge $20 a hole to to redrill and tap. Frankly if you don't have the proper tools and knowledge the price is worth it. Sometimes they will re-mount the scope and boresight it also. Good luck, Bill
