A friend of mine says his dad has a rifle chambered in .22-02. I, personally, have never heard of such a caliber. Does anyone have info on this cartridge.

I have not heard of a .22-02, but there are lots of old cartridges. I suggest you try to get a description of the gun and an empty case or cartridge and then look at a recent edition of "Cartridges of the World." Most good gun shops will have the book or maybe you can find it in a good library. There is a section, or chapter, in COTW that is entitled, "Cartridge Identification." Hope this helps. Adam

I`ve been playing with wildcats for years and have never heard of that one. Are you sure it was not .22-06? That would be a .30-06 necked down to .22 cal.
