Guys, beyond the military demand for certain calibers, there is another reason ammo and components are scarce/expensive.
China's economy is exploding with all kinds of manufacturing and construction, Right now, I believe they are the fastest growing economy of any large nation. And you know how large China is. To fuel their expansion, China is paying top dollar around the world for all types of raw materials- metals being prominent among those needs. Lead, copper, tin, etc., all going to China right now. That's why the price of components is up, and there are shortages.
