Mr. 16 gauge,
The Lyman Black Powder Handbook says to use a .375 roundball in the 1851 Colt. I have two Remington New Army M1858 revolvers and much prefer them to the Colts, 1851 or 1860. I have a M1860 Colt .44 and the rear sight is a notch in the hammer nose. I prefer the Remington's topstrap to the Colt's open top configuration. Adam
