Rather than being to hot, the loads are too weak! They are not developing enough chamber pressure to seal the brass to the chamber walss, allowing blow-back! the so-called "COWBOY" loads are designed to be just powerfull enough to punch through paper targets in COWBOY compitition, without much recoil! Actually they are simply not very good 45LC loads. Get some jacketed bullet loads, and I think your problem witll be long gone!

The 45LC is a very good rifle cartridge, and in short barreled carbines, make a fine 100 yd whitetail rifle!
