Continued Shot Load Testing - .62cal Flint Smoothbore

Continued shot load testing in .62cal Flint smoothbore, Jug Choked Imp. Cyl. ‘Plus’ Last trip I tested 1+3/8oz copper plated #6 and they patterned perfectly. This trip I tested magnum 7.5’s, both 1+1/8oz & 1.0oz loads, which also patterned perfectly. With 7.5’s pellet count, I can easily use the 1oz load for Doves in this .62cal Flint smoothbore. Pattern test chart shows averages of 1+1/8oz and 1oz loads at 35yds.

Thanks for the .62 caliber smoothbore report. All my mowing is done here on the farm, it is getting cooler and it is time for me to get around to shooting my smoothbore muzzleloaders. I like my flintlock .50 best because that T. Mansfield barrel has nice Hawken-type sights. The smooth barrel tosses roundballs accurately out to 75 yards. It also toses an ounce of #6 chilled shot nicely to 35-40 yards. My smooth .50 is an ideal woods arm for the October seasons. Adam
