I used it a lot in 1 1/2 oz. 12 gauge crow hunting loads and never had a problem with it, and I hunted in some pretty cold weather. You probably know this already, but the cold has an effect on all powder/velocity. The colder it is, the less velocity you get. Who knows, maybe those people that had problems with Blue Dot just had a bad primer, or the loads might have been so old that the powder had gotten wet somehow. I seriously doubt there would be a problem with the powder igniting in below freezing temps, or Alliant would have pulled it a while ago.
