Another Gun 'Accident'

Different sort of gun accident.
Went on a call this morning to extricate a hunter from the woods after being shot in the abdomen.
Our text page said "shot with a 50cal".
He's still alive and was medevaced to a trauma center.

I do not know who requested the father to "fire his weapon once into the air to help them pinpoint their location".
