Nice shooting to the young lady! I've done it a time or two, but usually when I had no other viable option. If she was able to pull it off - well, just tell her there's a better option and hope she takes it to heart before one of those shots goes wrong. It ain't pretty when it does, even if you're able to "clean it up" with a quick second shot. JMHO

I have shot many deer with a 233. I have used Blackhills 68 gr reman ammo and have had lots of success. Neck shots and lung shots were the norm. Both shot out of AR type rifles with 1X9 and 1X8 bbls. I have moved up to 75 gr BTHP bullets and have been shooting hogs with them. You shoot them behind the shoulder and they run, but not that far. If you have an AR and a 10 rnd mag with the heavier bullets, you can do a whole lot of damage.

Here's the finished product. The boy is putting together 1.5 - 2" groups at 100 yards out of the stand. Basically the same environment we'll be hunting out of. He's got over 100 rounds out of this gun so far and still impressing me - for a 6 yr old that is!

The final load with my 1/12 twist is 53 gr Barnes TSX shooting 28.5 gr of BL-C(2). I'm planting 3/8" groups with this load. The 60 grain partitions were givin me around 3/4" - 1/2" groups no matter what I tried, Plus the point of impact is almost the same with the Barnes (within 1/2") as the current 55 gr balistic tips. I have him shooting those for practice, as they aren't as expensive to load. $32 for 50 Barnes Tripple Shocks! Switched out tubes to a 3x9 Bushnell with a nice little reticle that I believe is helping him out quite a bit.

In reality his shots will be less than 50 and I have a toad of a buck tracked down for him...if I don't take it in archery here. Yesterday I had 5 bucks from 3 yards to 62 yards all at one time. I think finding him a buck won't be the problem...it's going to be dragging it out! I'm not sure he'll be much help in that arena ha ha
