Johnny Reb,
I have used a ,50 smoothbore with PRB and shot loads. My max range with Ball is about 75 yards, Conicals do not shoot well in a smoothbore, in my experience, Adam

You would need to shoot it i have read were a guy has a trade gun and his max yards is 85 yard.
Like any smoth bore gun work with it its part of the fun finding what the loads the gun likes. I see lots of guys start off with max loads and complain the gun wont shoot start off with min or mid loads and work up.
