Adam,
The SAMMI specs for many non-US produced rifles are purposely under rated. SAMMI is subject to the politics of the firearms and ammunition producers within this country. The 6.5x55 and the 7x57 Mauser are but two cartridges that are under loaded and under rated in the US and so badly so that the Europeans consider our factory loadings to be a joke and the entire SAMMI rating process to be anti-European and another form of protectionism. Who do you think pays the freight at SAMMI and also for the Gun Magazines? The fact that Norma uses the M-96 action for its pressure barrels and rates the action at 65K should tell you just how wrong the 45K rating is in the US. The idea that the action was blue pilled to 81K is even for me, quite amazing. Adam, the repeating of the data put out by SAMMI is not of help, it only continues the erroneous information spread about a fine rifle and thus a very fine cartridge that, that rifle was chambered for in it's original form. Frankly you should know better. Best, Ed
