Don't take it wrong but too many people think that they need a really high poundage bow. It just ain't so. I used to shoot my Bear Super Kodiak quite a bit. Was the easiest bow to shoot for a recurve. Dispatched more than 40 deer with it. Pull weight at 28" was 42 lbs..Pulled about a 31 inch arrow so was doing about 48..I actually figured 46 because I didn't draw to the arrow point. Every deer I shot was clean through except 1 and it was hanging out the other side. Longest shot I made with it was right at 40 yds...which was a loooonnnngggg way for me. Most were under 25 yds...quite a few at 10 or less. And when I got some aluminum arrows oh my.. Try a 42-44 lb bow..You'll be surprised. Hunting with a real bow is so much more rewarding..JMO So many hunters today have never shot a real bow with no sights no letoff no release..more's the pity and so many of them claim that a crossbow isn't a bow..
