Three guns come to mind:
1.) Lever action in .30/30, as previously stated. 2.) Enfield Jungle carbine in .303 British. 3.) SKS in 7.62 x 39.

For more years than I care to count, a beat up but very functional Winchester M94 carbine lived behind the seat of my pick up truck. In fact I had a couple of those beaters tht I picked up becuase the price was right. One was only $100 because the guy said it wouldn't shoot for some reason. Easy fix was a new unbroken firing pin. The other was $120 because the guy needed money. When Wincheste quit making them, I took both to a gun show and came home $800 richer. I did keep a third one that was the nicest of the three. It just got to go ride in the truck. I does now.
