You know it is interesting when you start looking around for shooting stuff, if you have a hog problem. You see way more folks than you would think, now turning to suppressors and very expensive night sights on high dollar AR type guns. It is pretty common to see stuff like $5-6,000 sight setups and AR guns with uppers in 6.5 to 500s that run $1k plus, sporting suppressors that may run an additional $5-6,000. These are farmers and land owners who are quietly building hog killing machines. I was astounded to see folks with $12-13,000 in a quiet, night time, hog killer.

The guy at the can mfg company, Liberty, told me they are running two shifts at 24-7 making $5-6k large bore cans as fast as they can make them. Guys in Texas with hog problems are snapping up high dollar cans for the 458 and 500 Socom.

I have my Grendel built pretty cheap and have it setup so I can switch from quiet to fast if a big bruiser comes around. Right now the 140 Interlock subs (1088 fps) shoot 1/2 inch low at 50 and the fast 120s (2,580 fps) shoot 1/2 inch high at 100. It has been an interesting project.

FL allows you to hunt Yotes, Armadildos and hogs at night with a can, a light and a Gun & Light permit at 0 cost. You just register and call an 800 number when you are out hunting so the F & G folks know it is not someone jack lighting deer, if you get loud.
