Adam Helmer as "Corporal Brasso."
In addition to getting a new computer after the September 11, 2011 lightning strike to the telephone line in front of the house, I have received scanning instructions.
Attached is the photo taken of me here on the farm just before the July 4th Parade.

Johnny Reb,
That is a caliber .577 Model 1853 Enfield. It shoots Minies to the battle sight at 100 yards with 60 grains of Goex 2F. About 500,000 were used in total by both sides in the Civil War. My unit is Company E, 42nd Regiment, The Bucktails, that was recruited right here in 1861 in Tioga County.

Jack,
Thanks! I suppose the rifle came out well in the pic. As for me, I am an old guy on the WRONG side of age 60. Be well.

Dom,
That photo was taken July 4, 2011. Yes, I know for a guy age 66, I am as well preserved as the rifled musket. LOL.

buckhunter,
The 42nd Regt. was opposite Devil's Den, Gettysburg, on July 2, 1863 and held. I have read Confederate records and often read where they despised "The Bucktail" worn by the Original Bucktails (42nd Regiment) and the "New Bucktails, the 149th PA Volunteer Infantry). The Rebs considered the Bucktails "Scary Dudes." LOL.

I know the 149th was in a heck of a scrap on day 1 on McPhearsons ridge and they held their own. God bless the Reenactors for reminding us of the sacrifice these brave men made, lest we forget.

Dom and Mr. 16 gauge,
Youse guys are TOUGH, BUT that is ok. My twin brother told me in years past to promote myself to Major. Well, when we only have 8 or 10 troopers, a Major is not really needed since our Company Commander was a Captain. I like being a Corporal.
We often do the firing party salute to Veterans in the local cemetaries. Often, I am the NCO in command of the firing party. Being a veteran myself, I find it a rewarding event.
