Johnny Reb,
Your Winter shoot sounds like a fun day. What did you shoot, what load etc. I prefer flintlocks, although I own many percussion sidelocks as well. Here in my area of PA, the Inline is the #1 muzzleloader. Our club has discussed flintlock matches, but the interest does not seem to be there. Adam

I shot my 50 cal T/C Hawken precussion rifle, using 50 gr. 2F BP, a .490 rb with a .015 pillow tick patch. I tried this new lube a 50/50 mix of deer tallow & Bear grease, it worked well but the patches got really stiff in the cold weather. I switched to my crisco lubed patches after a while.

Our muzzleloaders shoots will be at 50 and 100 yards. They will be an aggregate shoot with participants firing 13 shots and scoring the highest 10. I will be using the NRA 100 yard target and see how that works out. It will be open to muzzleloaders; flintlock and percussion, but no inlines. All the best...
