Skeet,
Check the enhanced R1 to make sure the width of the front sight base, front to back, is available on the market before you try to replace it without cutting the dovetail notch. The standard R1s front sight base on the one I bought for my build was not standard and required a .330 cut at 65 degrees to get right. I was told they bought a bunch of sights from Italy to put on the Remingtons. I recut the front and rear to a standard Novak cut. Ed
