You might already know this but Pawn Shops can not give revolvers away today. Their customers, being what they are, prefer black plastic autos. So you can run across a nice revolver now and then in a shop. Trick is to look, not say a word, then come back in a month, still there, repeat for 3 months, then offer 2/3 to 1/2 the list. 9 times out of 10 you can buy it for cash.

Great snag. 27 is one of the best revolvers S&W ever made. I have also bought a couple of 27s lately. Bought a pre M-43 22 kit gun(Airweight M-34) at an auction for 250 went to a local gun show and traded it and 200 bucks for a 3 1/2 inch 27-2(rare bbl length) and at the same show I found a nice M-27-2 in 5 inch(also rarer bbl length). Paid too much! So now I have 3 M-27-2s. a 3 1/2 inch, 4 inch and 5 inch. At a local show in Oct got a decent S&W 66 in 4 inch. Little ding here and there. But the price was right. and gave momma a nice little Kahr 9mm and bagged the M-19 she had in her truck back. And in early November finally found a like new Ruger cylinder in 357 for the Blackhawk a fellow gave me. It was a convertible without the 357 cylinder. A 9mm single action?? Nah not even a fan of the 9 in a semi auto. So I fitted the cylinder and now have 7 357 mag revolvers. Might be a case of overkill. I had a 27-2 in 8 3/8 inch but sold it. Way too long.

skeet,

The OLD GUYS are dying Daily and all their stuff is coming on to the market. Just yesterday I bought a truck load of stuff that will take a week to sort out. It seems an old WWII veteran guy died and his kids have absolutely NO interest in guns. Whatever. The kids did have an INTEREST in CASH! I am glad I had the truck on site.
