Not real recent, but. .. I made the mistake of perusing the gun auction sites a while back. Always ends up that I say to my self 'Hmm, I got dies for that'..... and then if the price is lower than I think it oughta be, well. . .
Anyway, ended up with a Herters J9. Got it pretty cheap, I suspect partly because only us old geezers would recognize what it is. This one's in 6mm Remington. Probably the chambering being discontinued helped keep the price down, too. Had dies, and even a few boxes of ammo and/or brass in inventory, so I was happy. Always liked the 6mm Rem.
This one had an old Bushnell Command Post scope on it, 4x. If I coulda got it focused clearly for my eyes, I woulda kept it on there (I think it's me, not the scope). So, I picked up a Bushnell Trophy 3-9, and had some Redfield mounts in the parts box, so I'm good to go.
From the rifle's appearance, I think it was a safe queen - little wear, no rust, and fortunately not over oiled. Actually, it was kinda dry.
So, I worked up a good deer load for it. . . and then never got to use it. A friend of mine took up deer hunting when she retired, and she's a slender woman with bone density issues. A light kicker fits the bill for her nicely, so the rifle's on loan.

Not a thing new around these parts as I don't get out very much at all, but I am starting to clean up the old piles a wee little bit, so every now and then I find an item or two that "I wonder where that came from?" So it's almost like getting new gem.

Joined the Bushmaster Club, just put the upper on my PSA lower. Michigan now allows certain rifle calibers in the shotgun zone, and I prefer rifle over slug, so watch out now, 450 Bushmaster whompass

Wow...Y'all got some good stuff. That J 9 is a nice rifle. They were made if I remember correctly by CZ. I've been a busy busy bee too Picked up a few more guns sold a few too. Bought an "estate" of a bunch of stuff from a fellow that died in a fire. I bought more than 3000 lbs of new and reloaded ammo and all of his reloading gear.etc etc. Still sorting through the mess. I got 7 guns in the mess 6 or 8 rifle bbls shotgun bbls etc etc. Some cleaned up pretty good. Had an 870 and an 1100 that were pretty dirty from the soot and steam from the fire..Cleaned 'em up and sold them for more than I paid for it all. Some of the stuff(ammo) is going to an auction at the end of the month. 40 boxes of mostly reloaded 7mm Mag ammo 30 boxes of mostly reloaded 30-30 26 boxes of 220 swift. Already sold 3000 rounds of mostly reloaded 38 sp. At a gun show I got a really nice Hollywood Senior Turret press for 120 bucks. Have already been offered 525 for it. And after a few years I just found a S&W M-60 3 inch gun with adjustable sights. Been looking for a long time. Also a couple of years ago I got 23 boxes of 327 Federal and 32 H&R mag ammo at an auction for 70 bucks. Last weekend I finally got a Ruger SP101 in 327 Federal...Going to stop buying guns for a while. Sure I will. Petey you want a couple of Lyman Spartan presses? I think I have one and they aren't that hard to find out here.. I even bought a couple of Pacific Super C presses one with the steel adapter mount with it. and I got a Pacific Super Mag 3 hole in line press....Big ol massive press
