Also got a new pup last August, but mine doesn't need the 1/2 mile walks, lol. Got a Dackel, or Dachshund, or as Americans would say a hotdog.

They are a good hunting dog, earth dog, and the name Dachs in German is Badger, these Dackels went down the fox and badger holes to drive them out. They are tuff little buggers with a very good nose

Best thing is, our Waldi has twice as good of hearing as me.
