Elk Hunting Idaho
I am planning on hunting units 16A and 20 this September, 06 wondering if bulls are bugling in later part better than earlier.
Has anyone hunted these units recently, never hunted Idaho before? |

Unit 27 is connected to 20 and we've hunted it the past few years and haven't had much luck no matter when we go up. I don't know if you're hunting from horseback or just walking but 27 has been kinda dry. I sincerely hope you have better luck than we have.

I would give the area Game Warden a call. They can usually give you some good information on game status and local conditions. Good hunting, grayghost

I just checked and they haven't posted 2005's report but you can check here http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/hunt/elk/ periodically.
