grayghost,

He was shooting a 270 Weatherby Mag with 140gr Triple Shocks, I think the bull was about 150-170 yards away. We just had a nasty little storm come thru the day before the opener and the first 2 days of the hunt. He was hunting pretty high 8,000- 9,000 feet. Most of the snow is gone, but on the north faces and above 8,000. The bull is gonna score approx 365+/- , the taxidermist has not done a final measurement.

Holy Wapiti .... Batman!

300Rum,

That's a VERY HANDSOME bull!! Very impressive green score.

May I ask who the taxidermist is who will preserve that brute?

Where in Utah was that bull taken? I'm not asking for a pin-point answer, but a general answer like Monte Cristo, Fish Lake, etc.

Before moving to the North Wett, I lived in the Beehive State for 19 years.

Thanks! Congrats to your BIL and you on a great hunt.

Brant,
I'm not sure of the taxidermists name, he is in Lehi. I think my bro-in-law knows him from Ducks Unlimited. My bro-in-law was on the council here for a long time.

The bull was shot in the Wasatch unit near Strawberry Reservoir.
He is a great bull, I am amazed at the number of huge bulls taken this year. I have seen pictures of 12 bulls taken this year scoring over 380" five of which grossed over 400. Hopefully I will have my chance someday.

300 RUM

Its been several years since I spent any time in Lehi and much has probably changed since them. I wouldn't know who it is either.

Glad to hear about the herd around Strawberry (and Soldier Summit?). Wasn't a 'big' herd I recall, but glad its 'coming on.' That's great!
