T/C Encore handgun range??

I am considering purchasing a T/C Encore handgun in .308. With a quality scope and common factory ammo (such as 150 or 165 gr. Core-Lokt) what can an "average shooter" expect for effective range?

By average shooter I mean just that, average. I know people have taken elk at 500 yards with their 30-06, but the "average shooter" could take that same elk at about 200 yards.

In addition, what would the approximate velocity and energy be at about 100 yards?

I realize this is a handgun question, but I always considered the Encore handguns "rifles with really short barrels". Thanks for the help guys.

The only right answer is the range at which you feel 95+% certain you can hit your target. With practice, that combination will work a lot farther than most if us have any business shooting. JMHO

Hanguns such as these are effeftive to at least 200yards .... with lots of practice.
I shoot 5 Contenders and practice often using a 22 barrel on my hunting frame.
