It's a good bullet, decently accurate but based on my shooting them In a 30-06, they might be a tad soft for the WSM.
Only critter I ever shot was coyote up im Nevada quite a few years back. It was about the time Sierra brought them out. Guess they'd been on the market maybe 6 months at the time. Anyway, the "yote" was mayber 200, 250 yards out when I took the shot. I'm thinking the bullet must have hit the spine as when I went to pick up the "yote" to skin it out, I found a two piece coyote. I didn't make any money of that one, that's for sure. We were deer hunting at the time or I'd have been using the .243. Maybe Siera has toughened that bullet up over the years although they did say it was a big game bullet, even way back then. I just bought up a bulk deal of 500 of those bullets so if I draw for deer this year, I'll ry them in my .308 as I like that weight bullet for that rounds. I might see how they work in a .300 Win. mag. but I still think they might be too soft.

300 WSM & 165g HPBT

Thanks for the info.A few years ago I had a Rem700 BDL Bull Barrel and they shot the same a Match King.
Load data looks like they well be over 3000 FPS.And I hunt a Ranch in Utah. The Deer are big.But all the shots are long.300 to 400 yards. That is what I am trying to set it up for.

Thanks David

I loaded them in a 06. Shot a deer and the bullet blew up. Seemed a little fragile for close range shoot. I would recommend them except for plinting.

Shot the buck at about 20 yards. Hit him 3 times and all 3 shattered. Had to track him for about a mile before we pushed him into another member of our party who finished him. Only fragments got thru the hide and very little into the vitals. I know that close and thats not what those bullets were designed for but you never know. Unlike you most of my shots are under 100 yards but sometimes you have a 250-300 yard shot.

If it were me I would look at something in the premium line. That way if that monters poped up at 50 yards you wouldn't have to worry about blow up. And at 300 it would be no problem either. Hey, Hornady 165gr BT would be just fine.
