Class III Stuff as a good neighbor
Finally got notice yesterday that my custom made 6.5 mm suppressor had arrived at the class III dealer's store. I dropped by filled out the ATF forms, paid the dealer's fee and the ATF tax. So now we wait an additional 100-120 days to get an OK from Uncle. You must order the can, pay for it, have it shipped to a class III dealer then upon arrival do the ATF papers, all toll about 6-7 months.
This is my $900 contribution to civility at the farm, not blowing the neighbors out of their beds at midnight, while shooting wild hogs with my 6.5 Grendel across the highway from their houses. I also just finished developing a sub sonic load for quiet shooting. My old pond, about 1 1/2 acres, is north of a highway and there are five houses along the south side of the highway about 200 feet away, down a small hill. A fast loaded Grendel is quite loud at night and so I decided to try and maintain a level of consideration for the sleeping folks. Ed
