I shoot the RWS 45, 54 as well as a Model 5 RWS springer handgun. They are absolutely great. But, my buddy got the Beeman R 9 on my advice. You have to try that trigger to believe it's for real.
You may be able to get a Winchester, Gamo or another RWS knock- off for $150 but like anything else you get what you pay for. I know from fixing several of them.
Generally the triggers are rough with 6 or 7 lb pull and lots of plastic in the action. A light crisp trigger is all important to accuracy in any gun. And sooner or later the plastic will be a problem.
