Aren't the chamber pressures on a pistol round higher than the chamber pressures on a shotgun? That by itself would be a problem. Can't even imagine what the chamber pressure on a .44 magnum would be compared to a .410 shotshell. Plus, as Skeet said, the bore on the .410 is exactly that, .410 caliber. If you don't like your .410, I guess you could try it with a string attached to the trigger, unless you don't like yourself, and then you can pull the trigger with your own finger.
